Miro - free, open source internet tv and video player

Before I post about OpenSocial versus Facebook; I’m trying to get as much actual and first-hand information on the API’s as I can, and you know I’m going to post about them …it is so exciting to witness the current “format war,” especially one I believe is going to be good for everyone in the end.

Let the 2nd annual CC swag photo contest begin! - Creative Commons

At Aggregate Culture, we not only watch and report on the
many meme's floating, streaming, and generally gaining momentum in the big blog-o-sphere in the pipe, but we also put our money where the proverbial 2.0 mouth is, and get involved. So when one of the most amazing organizations to come around in the last 15 years sponsor’s a photo contest, you know the AC will be there.

Cube Life >= RL

One thing about corporate cube life is that you get to know more about your cohabiters than you could ever possibly dreamed of. Here is just one example, for the better part of year, I’ve heard my cube cohabiter conference call in his Kung-Fu buddies, discussing issues like new group name, logos, suitable garb, and the importance of proper balance while sword fighting.

Game Design that is inspired

I have a dream that in my lifetime I’ll see a game (or interactive content…whatever you prefer to call it) that will move me emotionally in the same way a really good book or film will do.

Sometimes I think we’re almost there, and other times it feels like we have years before these tools will show their true narrative powers. But over at the Independent Gaming Source, they have put together a list of 50 great Indy games that contain some examples that argues beautifully that 'gaming/interactive content's' potential is closer than we think.

Home Movie Day: New Haven

For anyone in the New Haven area looking for something fun to do on Saturday August 11th; look no further and check out

http://www.homemovieday.com/newhaven.html.

Here at Aggregate Culture, we love these kind of events. It's amazing seeing both personal and 'found' home moves with a group, and actually being projected on a screen. I'm going to be there as well, with a few reel's representing Aggregate Culture.

For more information on what you can expect at Home Movie Day, see also;

warts and all...

This one is a bit painful for me to post, but in the interest of documenting my film-making process, I’m posting this rough cut of an idea I had back in 2005. “Anti-Diplomat from the Future” was originally an entry in 2005 StockStock film festival. However, what started off as a sort of hybrid essay about the completely hostile appointment of John Bolton as our interim U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations, morphed into an "animatic" for a new direction that I've been wanting to move toward in regards to working with archival footage.

Just when everybody is ready to ring the death toll for Sony's domination in the Video game world. They pull out something like this:

Good Grief...more Gravel

As weird as this may sound, I still can’t get that Mike Gravel meme out of my head.

Before you think that this site is losing focus, Gravel’s PSA is actually not that far Off-Topic from Aggregate Culture. The more I thought about the apparent weirdness of Gravel just staring at the camera for close to three minutes, the more obvious it became that Gravel must have some pretty savvy marketing people working on his campaign.

Jon Stewart made fun of this PSA from Mike Gravel on the Daily Show last week, but I didn't think it could be as weird as Stewart had stated…I was so wrong.

New video on YouTube!

Posted On: Tue, 07/10/2007 - 19:18 by maxfractal

MaxFractal has uploaded a new video piece. For those of you at home who have been keeping track, this is another segment in the single memory node series. Combine this one with the pervious nodes, to assembles an entire timeframe of different recollections of the same event.

Right now, each node works better as it's own visual snippet, capturing and mixing the anecdotal nuances of the memory. However, after the next couple of nodes are posted, the larger narrative will start to appear.
